Polar Bear Facts And Information

157486main poBearRTaylor Polar Bear Facts And InformationThey’re cute, cuddly and absolutely vulnerable. Polar bears capture the admiration and recognition of people the globe over for their fluffy bright furs as well as huggable size. They garner appreciation from pet lovers for their searching skill and survival strategies in one of the harshest environments on Planet. But regardless of their overpowering appeal these giants are in hazard of being wiped off Planet absolutely.

Ice melting really should be actually a primary focus of conservation efforts for the polar bear as this is actually impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears depend on substantial stops of drifting ice to perform their daily actions associated to surviving. Polar bears prey on fat-laden seals from these stops of ice, they mate, as well as some even deliver their cubs on them. The issue with the ice melting is that many polar bears have gone hungry for the reason that there is actually not sufficient ice for them to hunt their prey. This influences their ability to reproduce and bring their cubs to term that directly impacts human population numbers. Additionally, when ice is actually as well far from land, polar bears will certainly drown trying to swim a long way distances to locate them. All of these issues have actually made the polar bear more land bound.

Intervention in the form of government controls to diminish mortal impact has actually been actually highlighted as a concern in America and additional nations. In addition, individual businesses as well as interest groups continue to lobby and perform with the authorities to protect this worthwhile animal in its natural environment. Aside from authorities intercession, further investigation concerning international warming is actually essential so that the temperature adjustment are able to be actually put a stop to or countermanded. There are actually agencies that are raising cash for this remarkably objective. Another means communities are helping the polar bear is to make use of qualified bear patrol agents to keep the land bound polar bears from folks as well as to make sure that the bears are not contending too strongly with the folks for the food resources on land.

Not that you really care about this but we need them all to keep a balanced eco-system. Polar bear kills also feed a number of sea birds and arctic foxes that rely on that. If seals are over populated they will die out and the fish in those waters will be over fished and eventually this will also affect whale populations…

http://z4.invisionfree.com/Popular_Technology/index.php?showtopic=2050 Polar Bears are not going extinct. More lies by the ClimateGATERS. Visit above link and search for “Polar Bears”. all well documented what the ClimateGATERS won’t tell you and have been lied to about by the Al GOREacle and other “leaders”. More LIES exposed. they’ll do it all to continue their cap & traitor scheme

Yes, but nowhere near as happy as they’d be if all of you chickenhawks went to fight in afghanistan.

  4. Chewy Ivan 2 says:

No. Without polar bears, the seal populations would grow too fast. They will over-consume their resources and then starve to death. I doubt seals would be happy about that. The environment is in delicate balance. That’s why we should be more careful about screwing it up.

Do polar bears have dounsydrome? Quite often you hear of the polar bears and their struggle with extinction. mostly due to the rising temperatures in alaska and the melting of sea ice. this raised the question… what compells an animal to sit on a block of ice and wait for it to melt? my only logical answer to this is… they have dounsydrome.. all polar bears. Or possibly some sexually transmitted disease such as a syphilis like illness that if gone untreated could possibly cause extensive and serious nerve damage to the polar bears prefrontal cortex affecting their judgement and thinking process.

  6. Vincent G says:

Either you are joking or are not really thinking straight. Polar bears have absolutely no notion of there being anything existing outside of their current living range. They don’t migrate and move far enough to understand that there is something like Florida in the world, hence they stay put. Given that you assumed they would know what you do, perhaps the following question is not insignificant: what exactly made you assume that they would seek out better conditions, in other words why did think they would know about better places? What is YOUR excuse?

  7. nurnord says:

Following your own ‘logic’ I think YOU have Down’s Syndrome (I think a Polar Bear could also spell it correctly as well). – ‘Struggle with extinction’ is not a correct grammatical expression in this context. – Rising temperatures in Alaska ? Is this the only place it occurs ? Is this the only place Polar Bears are found ? Back to the drawing board for you… – ‘what compells an animal to sit on a block of ice and wait for it to melt?’ MY only logical conclusion of what made you conclude this is that YOU are illogical ! – Now, what defects do YOU have that made you write this NONSENSE ?! I will consult a Polar Bear for a logical conclusion…

  8. Jaibie says:

Downs Syndrome is trisomy 21 (3 copies of chromosome 21 instead of 2). It is specific to humans. Polar bears do not sit on a block of ice waiting for it to melt. The melting ice decreases the area of their territory meaning that the bears have to compete with each other for food.

  9. internetuser808 says:

So if polar bears go extinct, nothing (drastic) happens? I’ve been doing a bit of research (googling and lurking around here mostly) but from what I’ve gathered, the extinction of that particular species of polar bear that’s threatened won’t affect much in the world. Apparently seal populations might go up but then the population of another predator that could kill the seals would go up until everything plateaus again… And after that nothing happens…right?

  10. Mitchell J says:

…most likely…the problem is that we still don’t understand the complexity of linkages between animals within an ecosystem. Because of the intensly harsh climate and struggle for survival that it requires, the loss of a large predator in the arctic may lead to other species losses. Like when sheep were introduced to hawaii and they eradicated a particular flower that happened to bloom during a 4-week spring period. During that spring period a particular butterfly larvae would dine exclusively on the foliage of said flower and a particular species of rare and very beautiful hawaiian bird adapted to the normal abundance of larvae and hatched its chicks during this 4-week period. Except when the flowers were gone, the larvae died out and so did the chicks. The bird went extinct because of sheep.

  11. jj l says:

Well if the polar bears disappear, then of course the seal populations will go up. Then the seals will eat more fish etc etc etc….I don’t think the changes would be drastic, but I’d hate to see a large mammal go to extinction.

  12. Brad C says:

Basically nothing will happen(except what you said(the seal population may not be able to be controlled by another predator)), but the thing is. There will be no more polar bears. You will never see one. They will be only known in the past. Only pictures will be around to represent them. Its like losing a parent when you are a baby. You wish you could know/see them, but you have to just rely on stories and pictures(though, today there are videos, but you get my point). This is why people don’t want polar bears to go extinct. Also it would be another example of us destroying thousands of creatures just so we have an easier time.

It could have a great effect. Read up on the butterfly chaos theory.

WHAT WILL YOU DO TO HELP THE POLAR BEARS ? SAVE A POLAR BEARS LIFE. Polar Bear is considered a potentially threatened species. That means it would be very easy for the species to become endangered. There are currently between 22,000 and 27,000 Polar Bears in the world. What have Polar bears done to us ? The Least we can do is Cut out littering from our evryday lifes, walk a little bit and quit polluting our oceans and Great waters. Without dramatic cutbacks in global warming pollution, Alaska’s polar bears could face extinction by 2050. YOU COULD CHANGE THAT ! If you Would Like to Help, Check out this website and Send in A Donation Today. You Could be saving a life. http://www.nrdconline.org/campaign/Grant_the_Polar_Bear_Full_Protection Dont Hesitate to Help. Tell Your Freinds. Do what you can before its too Late ! PLEASE HELP TO SAVE THE POLAR BEARS ! AND REMEMBER ; REDUCE , RE-USE, RECYLCE !

Fact is we have more Polar Bears now than 30 years ago sorry Mr Gore

  18. TooFewShoes says:

I think you are missing the point of a mascot. People see images of polar bears on shrinking icebergs and take that to mean that global warming is causing loss of habitat for the poor bears. It doesn’t matter what the facts are. It is an image that evokes emotion and the people who want to use the bears as mascots will exploit that emotion in under-educated people.

  19. Blame Bush says:

There is also evidence in that study that fire and volcanoes caused the earth to warm. There is a huge carbonate layer where the fossil were found. I agree with dana. She says that 3-4 degrees can cause a huge difference. I think its a lot like Cynanide, where a little bit can shut down the whole system.

  20. James E says:

Those who promote the AGW pogrom of scientific suppression in favor of peer reviewed fantasy fiction remind me more strongly every day of the cardinal’s and bishops who suppressed the work of scientists like Galileo 500 years ago in order to maintain the political power of the church over society. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galileo Scientific method was developed by Galileo and his fellows to support the search for truth over religious or political orthodoxy. But now again we see the AGW movement producing a new religious orthodoxy through the political peer review system that is suppressing scientific method and pushing real scientists who practice it into the background while those who participate in the orthodox peer review fiction are brought to the front and financially rewarded by their peers.

  21. bsquared says:

Is global climate change going to cause human extinction? I have been reading, and there is no denying a change in climate. I don’t want to hear about polar bears, species have been going extinct for billions of years. I’m sure the first people of the planet were distraught to find no mammoth, but I’m sure they didn’t miss sabre tooth tigers eating them. Climate change will change the coastline and our weather, but is it going to kill us, or will our coasts just move, and our humanity adjust and survive?

  22. Lip Service says:

You are right. We are all goners. Start having wild unprotected sex and spend all of your savings. Live like there is no tomorrow. Because there isn’t.

  23. grannygrunt28391 says:

It won’t be climate change making you extinct.

  24. mountaingym says:

Just look at how long global warming has been going on: the last Ice Age ended 11,000 years ago. In that time frame humankind has increased from several million (just a guess, I don’t know the real number of humans 11,000 years ago) to over 6 billion. I don’t see how climate change has hurt us yet.

  25. Cirric says:

Hi. Hard to say. With the exception of current species, ALL species even formed have become extinct. Just part of the process. Certainly our over-population is not sustainable, with or without climate change.

  26. Dwain says:

We will adjust and recover. Hopefully enough of our records will survive to remind us as a species not to engage in fanciful flights of technological utopianism.
